PRESENTING THE AN DIGITAL CATALOGUE AT THE 2022 CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL ON ARCHIVES

24 September 2022

The National Institute of Heritage (NIH) attended the 9th Annual Conference of the International Council on Archives on 22-23 September to present the Art Nouveau Digital Catalogue. The NIH coordinated activity is being developed through the ArtNouveau2 project and will be available to the general public by the end of the year.

The Art Nouveau Digital Catalogue is an online platform that brings together digital collections from archives, museum, research and university institutions and other online sources dedicated to the international art, architecture and applied art movement and style that emerged around the world in the early 20th century.

The online platform is a collection of Art Nouveau resources - websites where bibliographic sources on the art movement are available - which upon interrogation generates results structured both thematically and by type of institution managing this type of heritage in the 6 countries affiliated to the project, but also at European level.

The catalogue is designed as a platform to support professionals in identifying and accessing relevant research information.

The theme of the 9th Annual Conference of the International Council on Archives - "Archive: Bridging the gap" - focuses on the development of new technologies and methodologies for bridging the digital divide, on new forms of cooperation between different communities to bridge the cultural gap, and on bringing citizens closer to institutions to encourage citizens to bridge the gap between personal and collective memory. More details are available at: https://ica2022roma.com/#.

The Digital Art Nouveau Catalogue is produced within the framework of the ART NOUVEAU 2 project. Strengthening the cultural identity of the Danube region based on the common heritage of ART NOUVEAU.
