On December 15, in the Danube city of Vidin, the Bulgaria Economic Forum held the first local capacity building workshop as a part of the ISTER project with representatives of local community stakeholders. In the hall of Hotel Neptune, over 30 participants were introduced to the ISTER project, and representatives of the district prepared and presented a territorial analysis of socio-economic trends. The associated partner of the project - the Regional Historical Museum of Vidin, presented the Roman cultural and historical heritage in the region, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city made a presentation about the Tourist Opportunities at the local level.

The participants in the workshop were welcomed by Deputy Regional Governor of Vidin, Mr Shishman Chaushev. He again stressed the need to valorise the Roman cultural heritage in the area and unite all businesses and entrepreneurs to attract tourists more effectively.

The meeting provoked discussions that continued during the working lunch. The interest of the local media was powerful. The local television prepared two reports for the event: an interview with the President of the Bulgaria Economic Forum and ISTER project manager, Mr Georgi Tabakov and detailed information with footage from the event. An interview was also given for the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. The Bulgarian National Radio will launch a series of broadcasts, provoked by the workshop and dedicated to the importance of the local Roman cultural and historical heritage and the opportunities open to the region.
