D2C - The results of the Dare to Connect project were presented at the conference

25-11-2021

This year's "Aktuality šumavského výzkumu" (Šumava Research News) conference was also a celebration of 30 years since the founding of the Šumava National Park and 50 years since the founding of the Bavarian Forest National Park. It took place in Bayerische Eisenstein from 20th to 21st October 2021. "We have shown, for example, that the forest recovers itself, that national parks are a hotspot of biodiversity, that returns of rare species are possible or that both national parks support regional development," some results are presented by Pavel Hubený, director of the Šumava National Park.

At the conference, we presented a poster with the conclusions of the Dare to Connect project, the concept of protection of non-forest natural habitats in EVL Šumava. Its aim is to contribute to the protection of meadows, namely in the areas of data collection, proposals of localities for management and limits of land intake, setting a conceptual approach to the protection of habitat types protected by Natura 2000.
