First IN-Person D-Care Labs Meeting in Zagreb concludes

»What a year!« and »It's so nice to see you in 3D!« were probably the most frequently said things during the first in-person D-Care Labs meeting after a year of online meetings.

The D-Care Labs hybrid meeting occurred in Zagreb, Croatia, from 7th July to 9th July at the Zagreb Innovation Centre, with a part of the participants joining the meeting live and part joining via Zoom.

The workshops of the two-day event focused on social investment competence building, with a workshop on 8th July held by Mr Teo Petričević (ACT Grupa), concentrated on the status of social entrepreneurship in the Danube Region and the role of social providers as social entrepreneurs. The day continued with a workshop on Social Investment pt. 1, led by an expert in social investment, Ms Mirjana Šarić (ACT Grupa). With the D-Care Labs partners hailing from various fields (NGOs, association of municipalities, social service providers, etc.), the lessons of the first day, continuing on the second day, proved to be invaluable, with active discussions happening throughout the event.

The first day of the meetings also offered a visit to social enterprise Oaza Joyful kitchen and the experience of a live-in demo day in Banja Luka (BiH), organized by D-Care Labs Bosnian partner Mozaik Foundation.

On the second day, Ms Šarić delved deeper into the subject of social and impact investing, while Ms Ana Novak (CEP) and Mr Igor Roginek (ACT Grupa) held a practical workshop on the preparation of unique selling points (UPS). The second day concluded with an in-depth presentation of impact communication and a thorough presentation on pitching by Mr Vladimir Marić (ACT Grupa).

The event, offering an abundance of new knowledge and experience exchange, concluded with a group photo of the participants.

This event leaves us optimistic that the partnership will meet in person again soon and continue the exchange of valuable knowledge and networking.
