lifelineMDD - Bird monitoring on Mura, Drava and Danube in Croatia

29-06-2021

River bird monitoring was conducted in June 2021 by WWF Adria’s external contractor Ivan Grlica, on Mura, Drava and Danube in Croatia.

Little tern, common tern, little-ringed plover, common sandpiper, sand martin, common kingfisher, European bee-eater were determined as key species that were monitored during this activity.

The task was not so easy since the water levels on the 3 rivers are unusually high for this month. Because of that, not all river sections were monitored and additional activities will be needed.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
