Members of the CENER 21 team have a great opportunity to present scientific research at the technical-professional conference - 36th International Conference - "ENERGY 2021" this June.

The conference will be held in Zlatibor, Serbia at the Palisad Hotel. A special review within the Conference will particularly target the energy transition, i.e. green development in the Western Balkans, as well as in the EU. The highest quality papers will be published in the scientific journals "Energy, Economy, Ecology" and “International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems”.

The thematic units that will be covered at ENERGY 2021 are:

  1. Renewable energy sources (sun, wind, water, biomass, biogas, geothermal energy, ...)
  2. Conventional energy and its coping with energy transition
  3. Connecting the electricity sector with the heating, transport and industry sectors
  4. Electricity networks and energy markets
  5. Energy efficiency (households, utilities, industry, buildings, ...)
  6. New technologies in energy
  7. Multisectoral tasks in the field of environmental improvement on the path of the Republic of Serbia towards the EU
  8. Economic and regulatory-development issues of the energy sector

The scientific paper of STRIDE partner, CENER 21, will be presented on June 23rd as part of a thematic unit, Conventional energy and its dealing with energy transition. This paper included an analysis of the current situation regarding the development of an electricity distribution network and the potential for a smart grid development in the selected pilot region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, conducted within the scope of the STRIDE project.

It consists of a review of the policy framework, research and analysis of RES electricity production, distributed energy resources in the pilot region and new technologies, and discussion on the possibilities of developing the electricity sector and introducing the concept of a smart grid. This scientific paper is a promotion of the goals of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme project, STRIDE – improved energy planning through the integration of smart grids.

Participants of this international conference through the presentation of scientific work and distribution of project brochures will gain knowledge on the importance and goals of the STRIDE project. In the acknowledgment section of the submitted paper, CENER 21 highlighted that the scientific work was supported by the Danube Interreg Programme within the project "Improved energy planning through the Integration of Smart Grid concepts in the Danube Region- STRIDE".

The objective of the 36th International Conference is to achieve a significant and positive impact with its scientific results and influence on the further development of science and the energy sector, which inevitably includes smart grids.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
