EcoVeloTour - The key factor: accurate stakeholder map

03-02-2020

Who are the users of banks of Rákos creek? How will an ecofriendly development change the mobility in the area? Whan can learn and implement a public body from the regional ecotourism startegy of the area?

The Hungarian partner in regional ecotourism strategy development, the Corvinus University of Budapest shares with the readers the secret ingredients of the successful strategy building.

The target group

The end beneficiaries and users of the Hungarian strategy will be the decisionmakers at the local authorities and touristic service providers of the project area.

The results – especially the action plan – will be structured in a way that the strategy can be easily implemented by the responsible authorities. Priority actions and projects will be named on a regional level; timeframe, responsible partners, source of funding, indicators will be important parts of the strategy.

Accordance with a bunch of other strategies
Besides the „obligatory” elements of the strategy (vision and goals, strategic directions and objectives) 'sister' documents in regional planning will be analysed with the aim to identify synergies and harmonized targets: regional, settlement, transport and tourism development documents.

The key factor: involving the relevant stakeholders

Local forum in Kőbánya with local stakeholders

The successful stakeholder involvement is the key activity of the Hungarian ESS-based strategy development. After designing the stakeholder map, several target groups (local authorities, national bodies, national and regional professional organisations, service providers, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, cultural institutions, tourists, individual users of the area) of the involvement process have been defined and were subjects of the sampling process.

The fieldwork is based on predefined topics, like touristic demand and supply, cooperation between the touristic service providers, infrastructure, visitor management, transport systems. The stakeholder involvement will be finished by the end of February 2020.
