ATTRACTIVE DANUBE project implementation team held a meeting with employees of the Federal Bureau for Statistics on October 3, 2017.

At the very beginning, Mr.Nedim Mujić, Project Manager presented the ATTRACTIVE DANUBE project itself, its objectives and its connection with the previous ATTRACT SEE project. The establishment of the Information System to compare 22 indicators by country, was outlined as the core objective of the project and it is intended to establish another information system with specific indicators for each country. After introduction of 22 core indicators, Mr. Mujic presented a list of specific indicators for Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr. Hajrudin Srna and Mr. Nedim Mujić, data collection and processing experts were interested in finding out more information about data processing methods that are relevant to ATTRACTIVE DANUBE project.

Employees of the Federal Bureau for Statistics provided information about all indicators and data collection methods and sources that are available to assist in implementing the respective project.

After discussing all issues and indicators, the following was concluded:

There are different data processing methodologies and methods as well as the type of data being  processed in the Federal Bureau for Statistics in comparison to data processed by Eurostat. The reason is that the Federal Bureau for Statistics has not adopted certain Eurostat methodologies yet, but it is intended to align these methodologies in the course of BiH’s accession to the European Union.

Federal Bureau for Statistics and FBIH Ministry of Physical Planning have agreed to an improved cooperation through data and information sharing and exchange. Finally, Mr. Nedim Mujic invited all meeting attendees to participate in the 2nd NWS to be held on October 24, in Zenica, since their skills and experience are considered valuable.
