DANUrB - THE GOLUBAC WORKSHOP_OCTOBER 15-17, 2017, SERBIA

 
 

Project partners, associated partners and students gathered within the DANUrB project in Golubac, Serbia in order to experience the local culture defined by contrast of the widest section of the Danube River and the Iron Gates – its narrowest and deepest spot just a few kilometers apart.
The Sunday expedition included sailing through the Djerdap (Iron Gate), visiting of the Museum of Donji Milanovac and the impressive Lepenski Vir, an archaeological site with one of the oldest documented settlements in Europe. We really liked it!

DANUrB - PARTNER´S MEETING AND STUDENT WORKSHOP FOLLOWED BY THE DANUBE DAY CELEBRATION IN ŠTÚROVO-ESZTERGOM_JUNE 28-30, 2017

 
 

On June 29, 2017, all countries along the Danube celebrated the significance and majesty of this European river by various activities and accompanying events. The DANUrB project with twin-cities of Štúrovo and Esztergom were no exception. Thanks to the Eco Logical Films and Manon - previous Interreg Reporter in the Danube Transnational Programme (DTP) - we can go back in time and reminisce on our DANUrB´s Danube Days celebration. PROJECT PARTNER AWARDED IN THE CATEGORY “RESEARCHES AND STUDIES FROM THE FIELDS OF URBAN AND SPATIAL PLANNING”

 
 

The DANUrB partners from the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Architecture participated in 26th International Urban Planners Exhibition with the poster that presented the first works within DANUrB project. They got 1st award for this work in the category “Researches and studies from the fields of urban and spatial planning”.

This exhibition, officially opened in Niš, Serbia, in November 8, 2017, is the main annual manifestation in urban and spatial planning and urban design in Serbia and neighbor countries. This year, the exhibition of more than 130 works presented was officially opened by a deputy minister responsible for urbanism and spatial planning in Serbia.
 

 

THE DANUrB PROJECT WAS PRESENT AT THE SALON OF THE ROMANIAN RESEARCH

 
 

The INCD Turism - the DANUrB project partner - attended on 25-27th of October the Salon of the Romanian Research that took place at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. "Designed in Romania" was the motto of this event where this institute exhibited the latest achievements while offering all participants the information about its present activity related to the European and national research projects. Our DANUrB project has also been presented.

 

6TH EUSDR ANNUAL FORUM IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

 
 

On 18-19th October 2017 during the 6th Annual Forum of the EUSDR in Budapest Bulgaria’s Deputy Regional Development Minister Denitsa Nikolova assumed the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region for a year. The participants of the event promoted by slogan - "A secure, connected and prospering Danube Region" - discussed the challenges and perspectives related to energy security, transportation development, clean connectivity issues and financing opportunities. The Deputy Regional Development Minister of Bulgaria noted that the Presidency gives Bulgaria the unique opportunity to lead the European agenda, enrich its knowledge, and share practices and experience in policy development, taking into account national priorities for economic growth, job creation, reducing regional disparities and strengthening territorial cohesion.

DOCONF_2017 - FACING POST-WAR URBAN HERITAGE IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE

 
 

This year, one of the main topics of this conference organized by Department of Urban Planning and Design, Faculty of Architecture, Budapest University of Technology and Economics was the Urban Heritage as defined by our DANUrB project.
On October 6-7, 2017 researchers coming from ten different countries presented their findings on topics from various areas of the Danube region. The break-out section featured many representatives of the DANUrB Partnership who participated as professional consultants and will disseminate our project.

3RD ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF DUNAJSKÝ FOND

 
 

One of the DANUrB stakeholders Dunajský fond had on 21st September a 3rd annual conference discussing the "Impulse Islands on the Danube River" where the Faculty of Architecture STU was also present. We would like to thank this institution for its excellent work, supporting many good projects along the Danube and we wish many successes in the coming years!

GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE PEST COUNTY MUNICIPALITY

 
 

Pest County Municipality regularly organizes guided tours for experts, tourism professionals and colleagues from regional administration in order to promote local sights and programmes. The tour in September led participants – including members of Pest County and BME DANUrB teams – to Csepel – Island, one of the biggest island on Danube. Guided by the mayors the towns and other local actors the group visited the 314 meters high radio tower in Lakihegy, tried the “zimmet kropf'n” cookie in Szigetújfalú and at Ráckeve had a chance to admire the only standing Gothic Serbian Church of Middle Europe and to study the milling process at the boat mill.

 

THE AUTUMN NATIONAL TOURISM CONFERENCE will be HELD IN ESZTERGOM

 

Our DANUrB partner city of Esztergom will be host to one of the most important Tourism Destination Management Conferences in Hungary on November 30th - December 1st, 2017. All those interested are welcome!

 

5TH INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE ON PLACES AND TECHNOLOGIES

 

Our Serbian DANUrB project partners are pleased to invite you to participate and give your scientific and professional contributions to the 5th International Academic Conference on Places and Technologies - "PT2018: Keeping up with technologies to adapt cities for future challenges", to be held on 26th and 27th April 2018 in Belgrade (Serbia).
