During the 2021-2027 programming period, we will continue to support transnational cooperation in the Danube region. The process of designing future Interreg Danube programme has formally started in 2019 by establishing a Task Force (TF) committee, which is composed of the representatives of member countries involved in the prorgamme in the next programming period. The TF is leading the process of desiging the Programme by holding regular discussions and taking formal decisions on the programme's content prepared by the Joint Secretariat/Managing Authority (JS/MA). The TF has thus far held 8 meetings.
To support the discussions, at the beginning the JS/MA commissioned an independent study, Analysis of Territorial Challenges, Needs and Potentials of the Danube Region. The Secretariat also conducted several stakeholder consultations, collecting feedback on thematic orientation and other aspects of the new programme.
The work on the programming process is further based on the new Regional Development and Cohesion Policy, as well as the Orientation Paper for the Danube Transnational Programme 2021-2027 issued by the European Commission.
