Please find attached here a press release related to the outcomes of the Transnational Cooperation for Sustainable River Basin Management Conference, which took place on April 11, 2017, at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Hungary.

The event was organized jointly by the JOINTISZA and the DanubeSediment projects, funded by the Danube Transnational Programme. Bringing together over 80 participants from 8 Danube countries it aimed to build synergies between the projects, as well as to support the process of turning the individual project outcomes to the advantage of related projects and stakeholder.

The event’s morning session focused on the JOINTISZA project stakeholder involvement, offering thorough insight into the project’s planned activities and outcomes. An engaging discussion followed concerning the involvement of on-the-job stakeholders, with the participants sharing a wide range of views, ideas and experiences. During the formal inauguration session the speakers acknowledged the relevance and the benefits of both projects. In the afternoon session, as part of the DanubeSediment Project Launch Event, the focus was shifted towards building up knowledge about the sediment regime in the Danube and on guiding principles on sediment management.
