The Zugló team took part on the first ever ’Active Hungary’ conference, marking the foundation of the Active and Ecotourism Development Centre by the Hungarian government. The conference, numbering ca. 250 people, was highly popular among those interested in ecotourism, including NGOs, state forestry companies, tourism agencies, representatives of local/regional cooperations etc.

The session about ecotourism development also gave a chance to present the EcoVeloTour project being a special showcase of a mixed urban-rural greenway cooperation. Zoltán Erdős, the sustainable mobilty expert of Zugló Municipality unfolded the aims and the available outcomes of the project. The expert gave review about the current process of involvment of wide range of stakeholders to the ecotourism strategy development in the partner regions.
The discussion pointed out the importance of a strong local entity that is devoted to the coordination of the tourism development.
