The  challenges  of  smart  cities  impose  the  synergic  cooperation  of  specialists  in  urban planning,  architecture, constructions,  and  connected  areas  including  economy,  sociology, information  technology,  environmental  sciences  etc. Starting  from  these  premises,  the objective of the conference was to  reflect  upon  the  design  of  the  smart  city  from  the  joint perspective of constructions, architecture, urban planning and territorial development, with a particular focus on the interdependencies required for achieving this goal.

The conference was attended by representatives of universities, research institutes, professional organizations and public institutions, central and local authorities, and private sector (SMEs).

The Conference program included oral presentations and posters on civil engineering, architecture and planning topics. Two posters, prepared by the ConnectGREEN project team members from URBAN-INCERC, were presented, with information about ConnectGREEN methodology and the specific legal framework in the field of urban and spatial planning in Romania, in connection with ecological corridors.
