CityWalk - Project CityWalk presented at the Assembly of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of the Pilsen Region


On March 22 2019, the national conference Assembly of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of the Pilsen Region took place. Filip Uhlík, director of Regional Development Agency of the Pilsen Region, CityWalk project partner, presented the CityWalk project.

Information about the project, main objectives, and key activities, i.e. Walkability Strategy, Local Walkability Plan in the City of Stříbro and pilot project ''Development of conditions for pedestrians in the city of Stříbro'' were presented to the audience. He also described the progress of the project implementation and the results achieved so far. In the case of strategy and plan, more than 600 questionnaires were implemented. The results of the questionnaires identified 60 bottlenecks in the “walkable” network and the measures leading to eliminating the bottlenecks. Within the pilot, there were approximately 400 school questionnaires analyzed and evaluated, resulting in visualized routes to schools with problem spots and bottlenecks and evaluated by a technical expert.

Positive experiences obtained during the project works (e.g. engaged public within the organized walkshop were also presented to more than 80 participants in addition to representatives of municipalities and cities, the President of the Pilsen Region and the Deputy Governor for Transport attended the conference.
