First general assembly of the Danube.Pears network
The first general assembly of the Danube.Pearls network took place in Pezinok, Slovakia on 15 May 2019.
11 members from nine Danube countries, so-called Danube.Pearls came together and discussed the first year's activities of the network. The meeting was led by the secretariat of the network, the WGD Danube Upper Austria Tourism.
The Danube.Pearls network will continue the work of the project Transdanube.Pearls beyond project duration and thus, elaborate and provide tourism and mobility services for tourists and inhabitants. The network will serve as common platform for destinations along the Danube in order to set up joint marketing activities and thereby, increase the visibility of the Danube.Pearls.
Furthermore it aims at informing visitors and citizens about the variety of sustainable travel options by taking the bus, train, bicycle or environmentally friendly ships. Members of the network will also continue elaborating new sustainable mobility services and user-friendly tourism information for tourists and inhabitants. Thereby, visitors of the Danube region will be able to travel sustainably not only to and within a destination, but also from one Danube.Pearl to the other. By being part of that network, members commit to to elaborate climate-friendly, low-emission, multimodal and efficient mobility solutions.
The network will officially start its work on 1st of July 2019.
