ResInfra@DR - DANUBE REGION SYNERGY WORKSHOP: RESEARCH – INNOVATION – KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY Fostering synergies of projects and initiatives in the Danube Macro-region
14-03-2017
Rationale
This workshop was initiated by the Danube-INCO.NET project and the two DTP funded projects ResInfra@DR and Excellence in ReSTI using the opportunity for their kick-off. The focus is particularly on the newly funded DTP projects from the 1st call and aims to provoke an exchange amongst the projects at this early stage. With emphasis on Priority Area 1 “Innovative and Socially Responsible Danube Region” synergies for cooperation among the projects are manifold and a closer look on currently ongoing projects and recently finished activities can help to establish synergies. This supports also the Kick-off of ResInfra@DR and Excellence-in-ReSTI.
A realistic look on the (expected) contribution of DTP projects to the relevant Priority Areas is necessary. The information about opportunities provided by the new projects and preconditions for its best uptake can be exchanged from the very start. The event is also a vivid starting point to establishing functioning networks reaching out beyond the existing partnerships and to identifying synergies among projects.
Details
The partners of projects funded under Priority Area 1 “Innovative and Socially Responsible Danube Region” (SO1.1 “Improve framework conditions of innovation” and SO1.2. “Increase competences for business and social innovation”) will have the unique opportunity to present their main projects’ activities and outcomes, inform about expected synergy offers and needs. A presentation session will be organised in the so-called “PechaKucha” format where all presenters can talk exactly 7 minutes about core issues of their projects. By keeping presentations fast, concise and focused on the future collaboration opportunities and synergies, the session will turn out to be an actual and prompt occasion for networking.
DANUBE-INCO.NET is a coordination and support action funded under the 7th Framework Programme and aims at advancing research and innovation in the Danube Region by also supporting policy dialogue and creation of collaboration platforms. In such a context the project is organising the event “Danube Region synergy wokshop: Research – Innovation – Knowledge Society”. The aim is to attract and involve those organisations representing the projects funded under the DTP first call, as well as other key stakeholders from academia, government and business sectors across the Danube Region, to stimulate a long-term dialogue and networking beyond the existing partnerships’ duration.
Two panel discussions will be organised. Invited stakeholders will share their views on the contribution expected from the DTP projects to the current work of the Priority Areas and their existing Working Groups. In a second panel the future challenges and opportunities with regard to the macro-regional outreach and uptake of results – also exploring opportunities for currently less involved countries – will be discussed.
The workshop also integrates due to increased outreach and visibility in the relevant communities the official kick-off of the two Interreg DTP projects ResInfra@DR and Excellence-in-ReSTI using the opportunity to officially introduce both projects to the broader audience.
The participation to the event is free of charge and for a limited number of participants travel costs can be covered (clarification necessary).
