ECO KARST - Tara National Park organized their third workshop with stakeholders

18-04-2019

On April 10, 2019 a third workshop named Pro Biodiversity Business ideas development and potential financial resources was held in Tara National Park, Serbia.

The workshop was an ideal opportunity to present results achieved so far on the ECO KARST project.

The presentation of BIO (Biodiversity Investment Opportunity) maps and preliminary version of the Action plan created on the basis of the feedback from the previous workshops followed.

All participants and stakeholders had a chance to comment on the content of the Action plan and suggest additions or improvement, if necessary.

For an inspirational break, a Serbian version of the ECO KARST short movie was used to inspire and motivate participants with 14 different stories of people who live and work with nature in 7 protected karst areas along the Danube region.

In the second part of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn more about national and European funds for Pro Biodiversity business ideas. Mrs Todora Aleksić from RRA Zlatibor shared her knowledge and resources about national funds and Mr Matevž Premelč provided useful information about possibilities and requirements when applying to EU funds.

The workshop was wrapped up by an extremely useful practical exercise, where participants were simulating the process of applying for national and EU fund with their own business idea.

All participants were very satisfied with knowledge and new skills they gained, that will definitely be of use to them in the future.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
