ENERGY BARGE - Final site delegation exchange visit in Straubing

On Tuesday (19 March), the ENERGY BARGE project partners from the biomass/bioenergy sector met with regional stakeholders from Bavarian academia and business actors in Straubing for the third and final site delegation exchange visit.

Straubing is branded as the region of renewable raw materials and also has a Danube port. In a set of presentations, the region and the activities of the port were presented. In the following workshop on the ENERGY BARGE modal shift platform (visit www.energy-barge.eu), feedback was collected during the live demonstration of the platform to further improve it.

In the afternoon, the group visited the BioCubator entrepreneur center for renewable raw materials, the Clariant sunliquid demoplant for bioethanol for transport use, the Port of Straubing and the Center of Excellence for Renewable Raw Materials in the center of Straubing. There, applied research with a specific focus on providing information for end-users of bioenergy is conducted.
