INSiGHTS - FROM "SLOW FOOD" TO "SLOW TOURISM"

Experts from Scotland, Italy, Albania and Bulgaria from the Slow Food International Tradition Movement for preservation of preserving the culinary traditions, representatives of municipalities and regional administration, media and citizens, were acquainted with "Slow, Green and Healthy Tourism" in Plovdiv during Gastrofest and Farm Market, held on February 16 in the hall for events at the newly opened "Central" restaurant.

At the beginning Mrs. Snejana Aleksandrova from district administration Plovdiv, Strategic partner in the INSiGHTS project, delivered greetings from the Regional Governor of Plovdiv Mr. Zdravko Dimitrov.

What has been achieved so far under the project INSiGHTS with a focus on pilot actions and eco-routes was presented by Mr. Velizar Petrov, Executive director of RDA with BSC for SMEs (Regional Development Agency with Business Support Center for Small and Medium Enterprises).

The participants in the event had the opportunity to discuss formally and informally the topics related to slow food and slow tourism, as well as to taste home-made traditional Bulgarian foods, which include also naturalized Englishmen. Youths, volunteers at the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation, cooperated in conducting the event, taking a lot of photos and conducting feedback with the participants.

During the meeting it was announced that the approval of the Integrated strategy for slow, green and healthy tourism at regional level is expected in March this year.
