NETWORLD - At the International Day of Tourist Guides - February 21

NETWORLD project was presented at the First Conference “Challenges to tourist guides in popularizing Bulgarian tourism“, organized in Varna, Bulgaria by the Union of the Bulgarian Tourist Guides (UBTG) on 21 February 2019 – the International Day of Tourist Guides.

Ms. Irena Georgieva - Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Kosta Bazitov – Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality and Ms. Hristina Nedelcheva - UBTG Chairwomen gave Welcome speeches to more than 100 guests and attendees at the conference.

Bulgarian project partner Varna Economic Development Agency (VEDA) presented to conference participants most of the NETWORLD results and outputs. The presentation’s focus was on the project database “World War One Sites – The NETWORLD Database” and publications related to World War I (WWI) cultural heritage in Danube countries and nationally. VEDA participation in the conference as a great opportunity to boast the achievements of the project to a wider audience and to promote the new routes to WWI sites through the network of tour guides to future tourists and visitors in the country and the Danube area.
