23-02-2017
The TRANSGREEN project will be officially launched on February 28th 2017 in Vienna. The launch is part of the three-day kick-off event which brings together key stakeholders and international project partners to focus on the project main topic: integrated transport and green infrastructure planning in the Danube-Carpathian Region for the benefit of people and nature. The event takes place between February 28th and March 2nd 2017 in Vienna, Austria and is hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, Radetzkystraße 2.
For the purpose of introducing the project to interested parties and starting project implementation, the TRANSGREEN kick-off meeting brings together representatives from relevant organizations and institutions which work in the field of transport infrastructure planning, construction, management and monitoring, and nature conservation.
The first day, February 28th, is dedicated to raising awareness on the situation of transport infrastructure development in relation to nature conservation including ecological corridors in the Danube Basin with a focus on the Carpathian Countries. Overall project objectives and the four pilot areas are presented to initiate a discussion among participants from both transport and nature conservation sectors. Participants are invited to have brief interventions on good practice examples of integrated transport infrastructure planning, construction and monitoring to enrich the common discussion.
The following two days, 1st and 2nd of March 2017, are used to build a common understanding on different aspects of the project itself and its implementation. The second day is dedicated to technical content of interest to both project partners and the wider expert community and unfolds with working sessions focusing on Work Package 3 – Scientific support and Work Package 4 – Pilot areas on 1 March. Communications, administrative and project process related aspects will be discussed by project partners on 2 March 2017.
