CHESTNUT - The first CHESTNUT transnational meeting and transnational conference

The first transnational meeting - CHESTNUT project kick-off meeting will be held in Portorož, Slovenia on 1st and 2nd of February 2017.
The Municipality of Velenje as a Lead partner and RRC Koper as the organizer of the kick-off meeting are pleased to welcome project partners in Portorož, where the CHESTNUT project activities and tasks will become operational.
CHESTNUT partners will be introduced to each other, to the project and the DtP project implementation framework.
First day of the meeting will be devoted to the detailed project overview, as well as the beginning of the second day of the kick-off meeting, which will be followed by public transnational conference.
Transnational public conference, titled: SUMP’s from local to regional perspectives, will be be held in Portorož, Hotel Marko (Obala 28T, Portorož), on Thursday, 2nd of February, at 11 AM.
The speakers, coming from Slovenia and countries from DtP area will be discussing the role of Sustainable Urban Mobility planning, it’s key benefits, shortcomings and the state of the SUMP implementation in DtP area.
The conference will also establish how to expand the SUMP planning approach further – to the Functional urban area level. And this is also the main objective of the CHESTNUT project.
