26-09-2018

On 19th and 20th September 2018 Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia in collaboration with the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training hosted a staff exchange within the Learning by Doing project, co-financed by the ESSR and the IPA fund through the Interreg Danube Program.
The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the system of vocational education and training, with the emphasis on the modernization of this system and the pilot introduction of apprenticeship. They exchanged opinions, experiences and different practices with some of the key VET actors in Slovenia. After the plenary session, which was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, the participants visited company Siliko d.o.o. Siliko successfully collaborates with schools in the field of work-based learning, and was also among the first to be involved in the pilot implementation of apprenticeship, since they can ensure the education of highly qualified personnel with their top-level mentors and the state-of-the-art equipment.
On the second day of the visit, the participants visited the School Centre Škofja Loka, one of the most successful school centres in Slovenia, which currently has the highest number of apprentices enrolled. School representatives presented examples of good practices of collaboration with chambers and companies and a number of other incentive projects they are involved in.
