ENERGY BARGE - Agricultural research and higher education serving the competitiveness of the national agriculture

In June 2018, ENERGY BARGE partner National Agricultural Research and Innovation Center (NARIC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Vitafort First Feed Production and Distribution Company and the Hungrana Starch and Isosugar Manufacturing and Trading Co. Ltd. The purpose of the agreement is to develop GMO-free feed production and to support research and development part in the National Protein Program. The patron of the agreement was István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture.

As part of the event, NARIC and the Ministry of Agriculture symbolically launched the so-called "GödöllÅ‘ Program" which aims to extend cooperation between agricultural higher education and research, thus making Hungarian agriculture more competitive.

After the event, the statutory meeting of the Advisory Board of the Agricultural Minister was held on the spot. Dr. Csaba Gyuricza, the NARIC’s Director-General, was appointed as the president of the organization.

Hungrana Ltd is one of the regional case studies within the ENERGY BARGE project’s Deliverable 3.2.3.
