After the external experts have audited the streets of the selected neighbourhood, collected and analysed the data the Municipality of Weiz organized an event where the inhabitants had the opportunity to discuss walkability - the walkshop was carried out August 21.

The walkshop was organised in the frame of the “Summer talk”, an event held by the Municipality in the selected neighbourhoods during the summer. It offers a chance for the leading community personalities, such as the mayor, to present current topics and changes in the city. This year’s “summer talk” was used to promote walking in the city, with special attention dedicated to the promotion of the CityWalk project.

Before the walkshop, every inhabitant of the selected neighbourhood received a questionnaire in the mail that could be handed in at the walkshop. At the event, there was also a possibility for the inhabitants who previously chose not to participate to fill in questionnaires.

At the event, keynote speakers were joined in their discussion by approximately 30 inhabitants of the selected neighbourhood who had the opportunity to express their opinions. They communicated all their thoughts to the project team and also received information on possibilities and plans on how to develop walking in this area.
