Serbia's municipal partner in YOUMIG is Kanjiža. The town is a sending area, which has been struggling with a wave of migration since 2011. In 2011, the Hungarian minority was granted a right to dual Serbian-Hungarian citizenship accompanied by an EU passport, and that has had a strong effect on the Hungarian population in Serbia, especially in Kanjiža, where the population is mostly Hungarian. Since the country has not developed enough economically, people do not feel financially secure, so emigration is likely to increase. The focus of the following infographic is emigration in Serbia and in Kanjiža.
