NETWORLD - World War One Sites online

01-08-2018

The database website World War One Sites – The Networld Database is online now at ww1sites.eu

It comprises more than 400 entries related to spots of World War One (WWI) importance in English and the national languages of the NETWORLD partner countries. Different categories of WWI heritage had been included in the database such as military cemeteries, churches and chapels, monuments, remains of military fortifications, barracks or railway systems. Moreover, museums with permanent exhibitions on the history of World War One are also mentioned in the database. Each entry provides information concerning the historical context of the site as well as cultural-touristic aspects of the region.  The NETWORLD project partners joined their efforts for the purpose of documentation, presentation and sustainable cultural-touristic use of the World War One heritage.

Everybody can visit the website and trace the remains of World War One in the Danube countries
