DAPhNE - developments in Ennshafen Port

Our project partner, Ennshafen Port is always in motion and looking for new markets. We are glad to inform you about their latest developments, which are related to the objectives of DAPhNE project, especially to the port development activities (WP5) with the focus on innovation, new market opportunities and port infrastructure and industrial development.

The waterway is perfect for transporting of high and heavy goods. This has been confirmed again when transporting a discarded aircraft. As new market opportunity, in May 2018 Ennshafen Port had a new and exciting project by shipping a discarded aircraft from USA to Graz/Austria. The last mile was organized with special heavy cargo vehicles to the destination in Graz. Shipment of High&Heavy cargo will be an increasing market in future. Read more

In Autumn 2017 the first LNG petrol station of Austria was opened in Ennshafen Port. LNG is a competitive, clean and affordable alternative to conventional fuels in road transport. With this milestone in the establishment of LNG as an environmentally friendly fuel for truck traffic, RAG makes a major contribution to the achievement of Austrian and European climate protection targets. The site Donaustraße in Ennshafen port  was selected, as its location in the central area of Upper Austria is ideally suited for this purpose. Read more

The handling facilities in Ennshafen are constantly expanding their operational facilities to meet the growing demands of the economy. In autumn 2017, the newly built loading platform was handed over to the company Fixkraft-Futtermittel. With its neutral location concept and continuous involvement of their logistics partners Ennshafen is constantly developing the port's infrastructure. Read more
