EcoInn Danube - First International Smart Grid Hackathon in Ljubljana, Slovenia

10-10-2017

Smart Com in collaboration with the EIMV Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute organised a two-day event, HackElect, at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science in Ljubljana on 7-8 October.
For those who attended, it did not matter if they were hacksperts, engineers, philosophers, biologists, students, or already had a steady job. Enthusiasts and creative thinkers who are interested in the field of electroenergetics tried to find innovative solutions to the following challenges:
1. Thermography and IR processing

2. Lightening Scalar web and mobile applications

3. Scalar backend system implementation

4. IoT-aware intelligent IP network behaviour prediction

5. Smart metering electricity data analytics

The goal was to produce a product with just enough features to satisfy early customers, and provide feedback for future development. This will be a core artefact in an iterative process of idea prototyping. The final and complete set of features will only be designed and developed after considering feedback from the product’s initial users.
The three best teams received attractive rewards, sharing a total prize fund of EUR 10,000.
