19-09-2017

Walking is an environment friendly way of transport, it is the most democratic way of moving, and it is healthy. It is the best way to meet people, experience the city, and take part in city life.

November 28th, 2017
Conference congress centre in the Dominican monastery, Ptuj (Slovenia)

The Symposium on “Steps towards liveable cities” will discuss and propose (new) measures in order to bring back the city to the pedestrians: how to increase urban quality and create liveable cities in a humanistic way.

Here are a few planned topics of the Symposium:

  • Street design / town planning, pedestrian infrastructure,
  • The pedestrians as an essential link in the transport chain: intermodality (urban mobility),
  • Design for a liveable city (convenient, safe and secure for people on foot),
  • A vision of sustainable and climate friendly cities.
