ARTNOUVEAU2 - WORLD ART NOUVEAU DAY IN CROATIA

The Museum of Arts and Crafts in cooperation with the Zagreb ZOO celebrates the World Art Nouveau Day 

Exhibitions, creative workshops and the premiere of a short film

Part of the program will take place in the atrium of Museum of Arts and Crafts, the ZOO and online, through MUO social networks.

 

PROGRAM OF THE MUSEUM OF ARTS AND CRAFTS 

  • Exhibition of Art Nouveau objects from the MUO collections, 10 to 13 June 2021

All visitors will be able to see the exhibition, which will display the selected Art Nouveau objects from the Collections of Ceramics, Metalwork and bells, Glass and Fashion an accessories featuring animal motifs as a part of this years theme "Animals in Art Nouveau". The exhibition will take place in the Atrium of the Museum of Arts and Crafts from 10 to 13 June 2021 and it will be free of charge.

 

PROGRAM OF THE MUSEUM OF ARTS AND CRAFTS AT THE ZOO ZAGREB

  • Exhibition and creative workshops

The Museum of Arts and Crafts will set up an exhibition on billboards in the Zagreb ZOO in cooperation with the Zagreb Zoo for the occasion of this year's World Art Nouveau Day. The exhibition will present Art Nouveau objects with animal motifs from the MUO collections with accompanying curiosities about the corresponding animals that can be found in the ZOO. The animals presented will be the white-handed gibbon, the peacock, the red-billed swan and the snowy owl.

 

 

In addition to the exhibition, the Educational Department of MUO will hold two creative workshops at the ZOO on June 13, 2021 on the topic:

  • Jewelry with animal motifs

Visitors will be making jewelry inspired by Art Nouveau animal motifs that can be found in the collections of Museum of Arts and Crafts. The jewlery at the jewelry design workshop will be made by modeling wire .

  •  Art Nouveau stained glass

At this workshop, visitors will make imiations of stained glass windows with stylized animal motifs by painting on a tracing paper using a black hammer paper. The stained glass imitations will be insipired by animal motifs from the Art Nouveau period.

 

PREMIERE BROADCATS OF THE FILM ON MUO FB PAGE

A short film, intended for younger audience, will be presented for the first time via social networks made in collaboration with Novena. The film will display what historical art styles are and give you a glimpse of how to recognize the Art Nouveau style characteristics on particular objects through a dialogue between the museum educator and the girl Leonora. You will also get acquainted with the work of Art Nouveau artist Antonija Krasnik and find out what stained glass windows are. Items from the MUO collections will come to life and show various interesting things about the objects with the help of 3D animation.
