ARTNOUVEAU2 - INTERNATIONAL TOURIST GUIDE DAY 2021 - From Biedermeier to Historism to Art Nouveau

23-02-2021

“World Day of Tourist Guides” held on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Since 1989, the "World Day of Tourist Guides" has taken place annually around February 21 and invites visitors to numerous free guided tours and lectures. Although the MAK has been open again since February 9, group tours are unfortunately not yet possible until further notice. The event has therefore been moved to virtual space and offers video tours by Viennese guides of selected objects of the MAK collection. In line with the theme of this year's World Day, “From Biedermeier to Historicism to Art Nouveau”, Viennese tourist guides tell us about selected objects from the MAK collection.

As a competence center for Vienna 1900, the MAK not only deals with these topics in its collection and numerous temporary exhibitions, but is also part of the EU project ART NOUVEAU2, which is dedicated to the Art Nouveau heritage in the Danube region.

The videos of tours could be found on MAK YouTube channel

More information you can find here and on MAK web site.
