Regarding the utilization of cascading concept in wood processes, the PRO WOOD Cluster from Romania continues with the activities related to this pilot action, which is being implemented in the framework of FORESDA project (Danube Transnational Programme). One of the results is also the development of a project proposal with the high social impact like furniture production for the social institutions of Covasna County. The project will ensure the platform for involving the young students attending the vocational school, who will be mentored by the cluster’s companies. This project is foreseen to be a multi-annual project. According to the principle of the cascading use of wood, the sawmill facility of Holzindustrie Schweighofer in Reci (Romania) offered the leftover materials for the manufacturing of this furniture. The joint project will be realized through the collaborative work between key stakeholders, actors of the cluster.

Programme co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI)
