Amazon of Europe Bike Trail - NEWSLETTER #7

30-04-2021

Despite all challenges and adaptations, we managed to successfully continue our project! Most of the meetings and workshops were shifted online, but our work on the ground, equipping the trail, has continued. Explorer tours are planned, and we can’t wait to test our Amazon of Europe Bike Trail!

Equipping over 1.250 km of the route is not an easy job….

…but we managed to do it! We placed 28 large and 39 small info boards so all cyclists can check information about the stages and must-see attractions on the trail.

For a safe and relaxing ride for all cyclists, we placed 15 resting places and 23 other infrastructure element such as bike racks, solar benches.

To be sure you are on the right trail – follow our road signs in all five countries. Remember to search for the Amazon of Europe Bike Trail logo!

That's not all folks!

We have published the Amazon of Europe Bike Trail Cycling Guide and Cycling Map, which will make it even easier for explorers of the Amazon of Europe along the Mura, Drava and Danube rivers to discover all the sights the area has to offer.

The guide provides an overview of 11 north route stages and 16 south route stages, as well as maps and short summaries of the routes describing key attractions. QR codes with access to information online are also added to the descriptions.

You can read more on the link!

Testing, testing…

…of the bike trail will begin this summer through specialised tours designed by our project team. One will offer unique packages and prices for the first customers of the Amazon of Europe Bike Trail, while the other one will be reserved for media representatives. Follow our website and social media channels for all updates!

Save the date!

Rethinking cycling tourism after COVID-19: Amazon of Europe Bike Trail as a holistic approach to new demands is the theme of the Amazon of Europe Bike Trail Interim Conference, which will be organized online at the end of May. The conference is open to all cycling enthusiasts who want to learn more about our product that puts nature in the focus, and those who want to help us improve our product.
