  DANUBE S3 CLUSTER PROJECT - ABOUT THE PROJECT   

 
 

Danube S3 Cluster project - Transnational Cluster Cooperation active on Agro – food, based on Smart Specialization Approach in Danube region is co-funded by the European Union Funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI) under the second call for proposals INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020. 

The project aims to leverage the innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Danube area by developing smart and coordinated cluster policies in the context of RIS3, to enhance innovation management knowledge and skills and foster transnational cluster cooperation in Agro-Food sector.

  DANUBE S3 CLUSTER - MAIN ACTIVITIES     

 

During the 1st implementation period, the main activities conducted were the elaboration of:

Currently, the project partners are elaborating the Transnational analysis of Danube regional context and cluster innovation potential.

In December, Danube S3 Cluster welcomed a new partner from Romania, SC IPA SA, after the withdrawal of The Foundation „Romanian Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises”.

PROJECT NEWS

 

Danube s3 cluster, introduced at the CAPITALISATION WORKSHOP IN SOFIA

 
 

On 17 October 2018, took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Pole 1 Capitalisation Workshop together with EUSDR Priority Area 8 “Competitiveness of enterprises” prior to the 7th EUSDR Annual Forum. The event was attended by the coordinators of Thematic Pole 1, 2, 3, EUSDR Priority Area 8 Coordinator, EUSDR Priority Area 7 and the representatives of DTP Joint Secretariat.  During the meeting, were presented the projects financed under the Danube Transnational Programe, the projects’ achieved results, the main lessons learned and how to improve the capitalization.

CAPITALIZATION ACTIVITIES IN MOLDOVA

 

Moldovan Technology Transfer Network participated and informed the entrepreneurs, stakeholders, academic centers and representatives of the clusters from different geographical areas of Moldova about Danube S3 Cluster project.

 

MTTN representatives participated with information about the project within following events: 

  • 29 - 30 November 2018 - Diaspora Business Academy for Young Women Entrepreneurs
  • 22 November 2018 - Enhancing the skills of young entrepreneurs in the economic field for efficient business management (Beekeeping, Apple and Grapes Sectors) – Chisinau, Republic of Moldova;
  • 23 November 2018 - Information workshop in the Smart Specialization field. – Balti, Republic of Moldova;
  • 26 November 2018 - 23 November 2018 - Information workshop in the Smart Specialization field. – Ialoveni, Republic of Moldova. 

 

For the upcoming period, MTTN will continue to inform the target group about the results of the project on the national and international level and to stimulate the entrepreneurial ecosystem based on innovation through the elaboration of cluster policies, which is a very important part of the main project's objective.

 

Danube S3 Cluster project - synergies with the Enterprise Europe Network 

 
 

Danube S3 Cluster project, coordinated by South Muntenia RDA, as well as its expected results, were presented at the ”Sector Group Chair Meeting”. The event was a good opportunity for South Muntenia Regional Development Agency, Coordinator of Danube S3 Cluster project, to present the project, to find synergies with the Enterprise Europe Network and regional strategies of smart specialization and to create complementarities between the two funding tools (COSME and the Transnational Danube Program).

DANUBE S3 CLUSTER PROJECT, AT THE DANUBE CLUSTER POLICY MAKER FORUM

 
 

A representative of the  South Muntenia Regional Development Agency, project leader of the Danube S3 Cluster, presented the project at the event organized by the Ministry of Economy, the Cluster Association in Romania and the Institute of Economic Forecasting. These institutions implement as partners the DanuBioValNet project, funded through the INTERREG Danube Program.

Digital Innovation Hubs Annual Event 2018 in Warsaw

 

 

In November 2018, ITC cluster attended the Digital Innovation Hubs Annual Event 2018 in Warsaw. The aim of the event was to reinforce the capacity of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) to support European companies in their digital transformation. The event was co-organized by the European Commission and the EU-funded initiative I4MS and attended by more than 300 people from SMEs, start-ups, research and technology organisations, DIHs and policy-makers from all around Europe.

Publication of the 2018 Regional Cluster Atlas Baden-Württemberg

 

The sixth edition of the Regional Cluster Atlas Baden-Württemberg was published on October 2018. The Cluster Atlas is a key instrument in cluster politics. It presents the cluster-landscape of Baden-Württemberg and highlights the innovation diversity of the cluster initiatives and networks in the federal state. The Regional Cluster Atlas addresses companies and other actors that are interested in cooperating with a cluster initiative or a statewide network. The continuously updated Cluster Data Base Baden-Württemberg, which delivers additional information regarding particular cluster initiatives, completes the Cluster Atlas. Bioeconomy Cluster, partner in Danube S3 Cluster project, participated in the Policy Learning Arena

 

Bioeconomy Cluster, partner in Danube S3 Cluster project, participated in the Policy Learning Arena of the DanuBioValNet project which was organized in Bratislava, Slovakia on 28th November 2018. The event was hosted by the Union of Slovak Clusters and it was attended by representatives of Slovak clusters and policy makers. The aim was to identify the dedicated measures on how to best implement the Joint Bio-based Cluster Policy Strategy and to develop its Action Plan. During the event, the following topics were addressed: alignment of cluster strategies with S3, alignment of S3 with other policies and measures at national level, impact of the implementation of S3 on activities of cluster organizations, dynamics of cooperation between policy makers and cluster initiatives, instruments to support cluster organizations and sustainability of support.

 

EREK workshop in Vienna – SMEs, Clusters and Circular Economy

 

IFKA was presented at a workshop in Vienna in 22nd October 2018 organized by EREK (European Efficiency Knowledge Centre). The workshop was interactive and address topics related to cluster management, corporate support services, best environmental management practices, and tools for improving resource efficiency and circularity within companies. Helene-Diane Dage of DG GROW formally opened the workshop emphasising the importance of clusters in bringing together SMEs and fostering collaboration for resource efficint solutions. This role was emphasised by Lucia Seel Communication & Content Manager of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP). 

 

„Bridging countries. Reaching Europe” – the first Romanian-Hungarian Cluster Conference

 

IFKA Green Economy unit participated in the first - three-day-long - joint Romanian – Hungarian International Cluster Conference co-organized by the Hungarian Ministry of Finance and the Romanian Cluster Association (CLUSTERO) in Debrecen, Hungary and in Oradea, Romania.
The aim of the extraordinary conference was to further strengthen the role of network thinking in the Central and Eastern Europe region and to create a forum for cooperation between Hungarian and Romanian clusters and businesses. The event enjoyed the presence of eminent representatives of European organizations, national and international clusters, academia, companies and experts.

 

 

Danube s3 cluster at the Food Industry Cluster of North-East Bosnia and Herzegovina 

 

The second session of the Food Industry Cluster of North-East Bosnia and Herzegovina took place on 30 November 2018 in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.  The Food Industry Cluster of NE BiH brings together all relevant actors in the food industry, working within different sections: the fruit producer section, the vegetable producer section, and the processors' section. At the November session the President of the Cluster, Mr. Slaviša Stajković presented the "Transnational Cluster Cooperation active on Agro–food, based on Smart Specialization Approach in Danube region - Danube S3 Cluster" Project in its activities and announced the organization of the focus group in March 2019 in Tuzla. All of the attendees of the Cluster session expressed their satisfaction with the Danube S3 Cluster project, appreciating the fact that we have a project dealing with the theme of innovativeness of clusters in the food industry.
