RESTI – TWELVE PARTNERS, NINE COUNTRIES, ONE GOAL

Dear readers,

The Danube Region does not lag behind the rest of Europe when it comes to ideas and initiatives within the Research, Social and Technological Innovation (ReSTI) field! In this context, one of the main contributions of the ReSTI project is to remove gaps in knowledge and skills in managing social and technological innovation projects.

The current volume provides a review of major activities to promote the upcoming ReSTI Pilot Training Program in the Danube macro-region and gives an auspicious outlook on the ReSTI kick-off event in Eisenstadt, Burgenland in October 2018!

At this point, we would like to thank our 12 partners from 9 countries for their dedicated effort to make the ReSTI project a visible and sustainable success!

RESTI PROJECT MANAGEMENT PILOT TRAINING PROGRAM: APPLICATION PROCESS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED!

More than 160 applicants registered their interest to participate in the ReSTI PM Pilot Training. “In the digital era, the creation of social and technological innovation is of paramount importance. Still, specific managerial skills necessary for the development of the ReSTI projects and their implementation need to be improved in the future. We are happy to receive such a positive feedback from our stakeholders that there is a specific demand in the region” is the conclusion of Gabor Szudi (ZSI), project coordinator of the Excellence-in-ReSTI.

Potential participants come from 14 countries in the Danube macro-region rooting their expertise in a wide spectrum of disciplines: All applications will pass an intern double-staged process conducted by an evaluation committee of the ReSTI project partners Fachhochschule Burgenland (FHB) and the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI). Successful applicants will be informed by the end of July 2018: 25 participants will receive funding to take part in the pilot training based on a blended learning concept. Moreover, further interested parties will have the chance to take part in the online modules and will be able to receive digital badges to make their training achievements visible and to enhance their professional CVs.

Further details will be available soon!

EVENTS IN FOCUS: INFO DAYS IN BELGRADE, SARAJEVO AND EISENSTADT

During spring 2018 ReSTI info sessions were held in several cities and countries, with a few hundreds of participants, in total. We present some of them:

University of Belgrade, Faculty of Economics, organized on 8th of May the Excellence-in-ReSTI Info Session on the Call for Participants. The info session was conceptualized in two parts – Presentation and info booth. After presenting the application procedures and details on modules, the moderator opened the floor for questions. To reach the maximum attention of the target audience, a ReSTI info boot was positioned in the central hall of the Faculty of Economics during the entire day. Interested parties were in a position to acquire detailed information from the ReSTI project team members, as well as from the provided material (leaflets on ReSTI, the application process, presentation of modules etc.).

FH Burgenland’s main target group were MA students and recent graduates of project management and innovation programs at the Faculty of Business. Irena Zavrl, Claudia Kummer, and Regina Rowland took part in several dissemination occasions: Career Days Exhibition, European Days Faculty Event, Federal Policy Makers Conference, a face to face event for eligible students and graduates and an Open Info Webinar for Alumni and other stakeholders in the network. The highlight was the “Long Researchers’ Night” on 13th  April, Austria’s largest Research Event that spreads the sparkle of research and innovation to the wide public: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRrDbk6nBHM&t=55s

ReSTI team of the School of Economics and Business University of Sarajevo (SEBS) also organized an Info Session for the SEBS students. The Info Session took place on 3rd of May at SEBS's premises in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). As a result of this event, attendees were in a position to evaluate their personal advantages and prerequisites of submitting their application and becoming a participant in the ReSTI Pilot Training Programme.

RESTI SUPPORTS PROJECT MANAGERS IN MOLDOVA AND ROMANIA

After ReSTI Info-desk launch in the mid of March 2018 the project consortium received a positive feedback that the glossary terms on the Info-desk were also helpful for project managers in Moldova and Romania. The updated glossary terms, now available in nine European languages were uploaded and now serve as a free basic wordbook on EU project management for an even greater audience.

The ReSTI team has to thank Mr. Alexei Levitchi from the University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, who translated all terms to Romanian language!
