    The Sultans Trail as a long-distance hiking and cycling trail is unsufficiantly known in the region for visitors to be serviced adequately.

    To improve awareness of the trail in the region and the opportunities it offers to local institutions and SME's

    Signed Memories of Understanding stating support of the trail and willingness to participate in its popularisation.

    Main foreseen activities

    Promotional tour (during 3+3 month's in 2021) along the entire 2500km of the trail, daily meets with local stakeholders in the field of tourism and heritage management and from civil society (youth clubs, hiking clubs, cycling clubs).

    Innovative character of the project idea

    The Sultans Trail is designed to introduce hikers and cyclists to the cultural heritage of the regions along the trail in a sustainable and non-intrusive way. It provides new opportunities for tourism in the hinterland of the countries that it passes through.
