    The project aims to transform the Balkan region (Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia) into a nucleus of innovation and progress through the shared use of scientific and innovative competences in the three countries through the active involvement of the universities of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry, creative and those using high technology. The project implementation region includes a population of more than 33 million people, with more than 100 universities, 50 research institutes and one hundred thousand businesses. There is currently no institutional framework for research and innovation collaboration between the three countries; the transfer of information and technologies is insufficiently developed, and the potential of academics and researchers is underutilized.
    Needs and challenges:
    The level of scientific research and technology and the application of new technologies in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia is still below the European Union average.

    Objectives
    (main and specific objectives to be achieved)

    Main Goal:
    Improving framework conditions for innovation and application of scientific discoveries in creative industries in the Balkan region (Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia).
    Specific objectives:
    - facilitation of technological transfer and research results between universities, enterprises and organizations in the Balkan area;
    -inclusion of legislation in the field of innovation and technological transfer in the Balkan area;
    -promoting the application of advanced research and green technologies in the Balkan industry;
    - implementation of innovation centers in each of the countries included in the project;
    -the establishment of a Balkan Stock Exchange for technology transfer, innovation and support services;

    Main results and core outputs

    1. Establish a Balkan Stock Exchange for technology transfer, innovation and support services;
    2. Developing a software tool to implement the Balkan Stock Exchange for technology transfer, innovation and support services;;
    3. Making some proposals for unification of the legislative framework in the Balkan area in the field of research, innovation and entrepreneurship;
    4. To promote the application of advanced research and green technologies in the Balkan industry, among at least 20 regional public authorities, 15 support business organizations, 100 SMEs, 20 universities and 10 research institutes;
    5. Developing and equipping 3 research and technology transfer hubs in each of the three partner countries;
    6. Making workshops on the promotion and application in production of the research results obtained by the specialists from the partner countries.

    Main foreseen activities

    1. Management of the project - month 1 - month 30 - aims at fulfilling the objectives, performing the activities and reaching the indicators;
    2. Information and publicity - month 1 - month 30 - aims at informing the general public about the objectives and activities of the project;
    3. Selection of the target group - month 1 - month 5 - the target group consists of 50 university professors, 50 researchers, 300 students, 50 representatives of the NGO, 100 representatives of SMEs, 20 representatives of the local public authorities;
    4. Establishment of a Balkan Stock Exchange for Technological Transfer, Innovation and Support Services - 3rd Month 15th - for the optimal functioning of the scholarship will be made a dedicated software tool;
    5. Activities to promote the application of advanced research and green technologies in the Balkan industry - 1 month 30 months;
    6. Development and endowment of 3 research and technology transfer hubs in each of the three partner countries - 1 month - 30 months;

    Innovative character of the project idea

    The innovative character of the project idea consists in facilitating the pooling of scientific and innovative competences in the three countries through the active involvement of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, NGOs, creative industries and those using high technology.
    Another innovative aspect of the project idea is the establishment of a Balkan Research and Innovation Stock Exchange where researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs can interact / exchange information for the application of scientific and applied research results in practice.
    Among the innovation factors are also the promotion of the application of advanced research and green technologies in the Balkan industry
