The goal of the work of a family associate with each family is to create a change in the functioning of the family, together with the family, which will enable the child's welfare in the family and be sustainable. The family associate is at least once a week visiting a family, or a family-related actor.

    Main foreseen activities

    Main goals:
    - prevention of neglect and abuse of children in families
    - improvement of parental capacities through the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in the field of healthy parenting, life skills, partnership and other relationships
    - Prevention of displacement of children from natural families

The family associate would be in constant contact with the Social work Center's professional staff who would present his role and function to parents and family, and support and supervise his work. In these families, the role of fathers is minor ,and mothers with five and more children are not able to satisfy numerous children's needs alone. This type of assistance to children is humane and in line with the UN Convention on the Protection of Children's Rights - enables children to continue living in a biological family with parents and brothers and sisters.

Innovative character of the project idea

Families in crisis with the support of their family associates have the opportunity to improve their own system of functioning, with minimal support. On the other hand, expert social services receive additional knowledge on how to work with community support networks.
