(Needs, main problems or challenges to be addressed)The Cultural Heritage objects constitute non-renewable resources which must be protected, but at the same time promoted as an important tourism asset. Nevertheless, in order to properly valorise these assets through tourism, efforts are needed for improving the management of the sites both in terms of preservation of natural assets and in development of sustainable methods of exploitation. In addition, the fact that most natural, cultural and historical heritage has not been digitalised yet hampers the access of the general public and tourists.

To foster cross-border cooperation in the field of preserving and managing cultural and natural resources in the Danube region as a basis for sustainable economic development and growth
Specific objectives
• To preserve and promote the architectural and natural diversity of the region through developing 5 transnational theme routes each including per 15 sites with common historical, cultural and natural characteristics
• To ensure the sustainable preservation and promotion of cultural and natural assets through implementing innovative tool including 3D scanning, modelling, and physical representation of the 5 transnational routes
• To create a common framework for action between relevant stakeholders in the field of tourism development through developing a joint strategy for exploitation of cultural and natural heritage for tourism development.

• Implemented tool for preserving and management of natural and cultural heritage and resources
• 5 thematic routes developed connecting per 15 of the identified sites
• 75 digital models of cultural and natural landmarks created
• 5 full and detailed 3D physical models of the thematic routes produced
• 5 thematic seminars organized for representatives of the management of the sites selected for the thematic routes
• 1 joint strategy developed
• 5 thematic movies created
• 10 exhibitions organized in the project countries
• Mobile apps developed
• Increased market visibility of the transnational routes
Main foreseen activities
- Development of 5 transnational thematic routes including a total of 75 cultural, historical and natural sites located in the eligible area of the selected 5 partner countries
- Digitization/ scanning of the studied and researched 75 cultural and historical sites in the eligible area through on the spot visits. 360-degree virtual tours of the objects providing realistic sightseeing to visitors thousands of miles away.
- Creating 75 realistic 3D scale models of significant cultural and historical sites located across the Danube, combined in 5 thematic models.
- Development of joint integrated strategy and Action plan for the protection and sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage and secure resources
- Implementation of one year Action plan, including 5 thematic seminars for the managing bodies of the identified 75 sites; Organizing 10 joint promotional exhibitions in the partner countries; Participation in 3 international touristic fairs
- Development of 5 thematic promotional films.
Innovative character of the project idea
The innovative character consists in practical implementation of innovative tool for preservation and promotion of cultural heritage sites, including 3D scanning, modelling and physical representation.
