Needs and challenges
(Needs, main problems or challenges to be addressed)Cross-border environmental and population risk management in the Danube Region through monitoring and operational cooperation. The various modern technologies and innovations are used for civil protection and the protection of critical infrastructure at national level. In the previous programming periods have not developed significant projects in the field of transnational tools and services (monitoring and forecasting tools and an exchange mechanism of information). We do not insist to participate the project as a leader partner.

Ensuring a cross-border cooperation in the field of the monitoring.
Raising the level of prevention is the protection of the population and the environment
on the territory of the Danube region.
Main results and core outputs
The main expected outcome is improved strategic and operational cooperation and interoperability between emergency response bodies and stakeholders at all levels in the Danube countries for the protection of human health.
The project focuses on cooperation in response to major transnational or national emergency situations in connection with natural and man-made disasters with potential cross-border effects. The project will prepare harmonized, joint, transnational solutions in the field of monitoring, alert, operational cooperation, capacity-sharing or deployment of forces to address risk and protect human health.
Main foreseen activities
Analysis of the current state of national capabilities for monitoring and predicting hazards for natural disasters and development of common development guidelines.
Review the current state of national emergency pop-up capabilities and develop a cross-border methodology for developing / upgrading existing systems using state-of-the-art information technology and innovation.
Developing a mechanism for sharing information on threats and disasters, prevention and protection of people to which access will be made to the rest of the Danube area.
Pilot activities allow testing of innovative solutions and demonstration of the implementation of transnational solutions for the defined territory. Innovative character of the project idea.
