    Needs and challenges
(Needs, main problems or challenges to be addressed)

Most in-situ conservation and presentation of archaeological sites focuses more on the monuments and other artefacts themselves than on them and the landscapes of which they are a part (urban areas). The concept of an archaeological park can overcome this limitation.
DANUBE cultural heritage is rich and diverse, but under pressure due to lack of capacity (common policies,know-how,resources).The project will improve and intensify cooperation of interdisciplinary stakeholders in Danube region in order to preserve, support and valorize cultural heritage through archeological parks in the FUAs as product. Project paves way for preparation of concrete investments and support implementation of new initiatives in tourism. Arheological parks are a tool through which the local communities can manage, control and protect their heritage resources.
