Needs and challenges
(Needs, main problems or challenges to be addressed)Municipality of Vitanje aims to establish a sustainable transport planning produced by a strategic document – CPS (An integrated transport strategy). This is a new approach to transport planning based on existing design methods and complement the relevant principles of inclusion, participation and evaluation, so that with them the need for a better quality of life in cities and regions for present and future generations.
Objectives
(main and specific objectives to be achieved)Using CPS wants the municipality to establish a sustainable transport system, so as to ensure the accessibility of jobs and services for all, improve road safety, reduce pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, increase efficiency and reduce the cost of passenger and freight transport and to improve the attractiveness and quality the urban/rural environment.
Main results and core outputs
The preparation of the CPS and its implementation, the municipality will improve the quality of life, reaching positive effects on the environment and health, improve mobility, road safety and accessibility, improve the image of the county and effectively fulfill legal obligations such as the Directive on air quality from the European Commission or national regulations control of noise, etc .. Integrated planning sector offers long-term and strategic vision of providing mobility. To promote a culture of effective and integrated planning and achieving other objectives of the community (economic, social, environmental).
