(Needs, main problems or challenges to be addressed)Project DVIH tackles untapped potential transfer of innovation from research into practice in the Danube region, as it is an important obstacle to the development of the inter-regional, national and supranational economy.
Objectives
(main and specific objectives to be achieved)Aim of the project is to identify, develop and use existing inter-regional capacities and competencies of research and entrepreneurship to change the current mechanisms for technology transfer with the aim to
(i) strengthen links between stakeholders in the Danube region, and
(ii) develop the excellence of experts and promote marketing components for innovation.
The direct project beneficiaries will be small businesses and public, particularly researchers, and experts in technology transfer, as the driving force of the inter-regional economy and guarantee for sustainable development.
Main results and core outputs
The project approaches tackling inter-regional challenges will be:
(i) integration of stakeholders with the help of the established Danube Virtual Centre which will be one stop shop for all the regions involved in the project for the Development of research and entrepreneurship,
(ii) creation of value chains between researchers and entrepreneurs in the field of nano / biotechnology and advanced materials,
(iii) education of stakeholders on technology transfer, entrepreneurship and market research,
(iv) identification of paths for best ideas scouting
(vi) development of Proof of concept for at least 5 the most innovative ideas coming from the Danube region,
(vii) development and deployment of at least 3 pilot innovation actions, and
(viii) development of the virtual showroom for innovative ideas coming from the Danube region, for the purpose of promotion of promising innovative concepts.

Establishment of Danube Virtual Centre as one stop shop for entire Danube region, related to R&D and entrepreneurship
Awareness raising and integration of key stakeholders in the platform, from academia and entrepreneurship
Best ideas scouting methodology development
Development of proof of concept for top 5 most promising innovative ideas
Development and deployment of at least 3 pilot innovation actions
Development of virtual showroom for innovative ideas coming from Danube region
Innovative character of the project idea
The uniqueness of the project DVIH in the region is in the promotion of entrepreneurship in the field of nano / biotechnology, advanced materials and circular economy.
The Danube Virtual Centre will ensure the sustainability of the project after the completion of the financing, as a tool to enable the search for partners will remain in operation and managed by the lead partner. As such, it will bring new business opportunities to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the long term.
DVIH will contribute positively to the efficient use of knowledge, establishment of innovative and competitive companies, sustainable development of Danube region, and will increase employment and improve the development opportunities in the sectors of nano / biotechnology, advanced materials and circular economy.
