    Travelling on cargo ships is not new. It is a niche and the organization of a trip nowadys needs a lot of time, effort and information. The interest for more trips on cargo ships is there, as our previous project shows and on the danube there is potential for this kind of travel. To simplify the organization of a cargo trip, we want to establish a web based platform, that can help the traveller to book a trip on a cargo ship on the danube in just a view clicks. The platform will also promote cargo trips in general and will serve as a centre for sharing information all around travelling on cargo ships on the danube.

    The aim is the development of web-based platform for the planning, booking and other services that supports travelling on carog ships along the danube.
    Our University has done a feasibility study. The basics for the platform are available. Next step should be the development of a prototy and the testing of this.

    Innovative character of the project idea

    There is no other tool like this available. During our feasibilty study we had a lot of request from different target groups. Our questionnaire also showed bis interest in a tool like that. Especially the group of young people were attracted by the idea of travelling on a cargo ship.
